VA-1000 is a virtual analog synthesizer blending classic subtractive workflow with modern features, offering Ultrasaw oscillators, flexible filtering, and built-in effects for instant, mix-ready sounds.

Oscillator and Unison Power
The VA-1000’s sound engine centers on its Ultrasaw oscillator, a dedicated multi-saw design inspired by classic supersaw styles, supporting up to nine detuned voices for broad, dense textures. A seven-voice mode echoes the behavior of iconic Roland JP-style synthesizers, giving you authentic vintage width with a single parameter.
Beyond Ultrasaw, the core includes saw and pulse waves with PWM, plus sub and noise sources. Each oscillator has independent semitone tuning for creating stacked intervals and thick layers. Unison scales up to nine voices with a detune range reaching 700 cents, controlled by a blend knob, letting you move from smooth ensemble effects to aggressive power-chord swarms.
Filtering and Drive Flexibility
The multimode filter offers nine types, including emulations of Roland 24dB, Moog 24dB, and a state-variable filter with LP, HP, and BP outputs. Additional modes include Peak, Notch, Acid LP, and a unique LP FM 12 that operates at audio rate, allowing filter frequency modulation to create dramatic timbral shifts.
Drive can be placed either before or after the filter, providing rounded warmth or edgy distortion. In LP FM mode, lower Drive values also increase FM depth, opening up liquid, metallic textures. This filter and drive combination gives you a wide palette from smooth subtractive to aggressive, characterful tones.
Modulation and Performance Tools
Three envelopes span amp, filter, and pitch, with wide ranges and per-oscillator pitch targeting for classic thwacks, risers, and zaps. The pitch envelope is particularly useful for creating punchy kicks or subtle vocal-like movements. The LFO section includes eight waveforms, sample-and-hold, and a Nord-inspired Triple Peak option, all tempo-syncable.
A second triangle LFO on the mod wheel layers on top of LFO 1 for expressive performance. Modulation destinations are extensive, including filter, pan, amp, HPF, resonance, drive, Ultrasaw spread, per-oscillator pitch, FM amount, noise color, and pitch envelope depth, enabling animated and evolving textures.
Effects and Playability
The built-in effects section features a four-mode chorus emulating CE3, JP8, and two AJ2 variations, a character delay with tone shaping and JP-style ping-pong cross-feed, and a Lexicon-inspired reverb with ducking that keeps the dry signal intact. These effects contribute to a polished, mix-ready output.
Performance tools include a 24-type chord memory, an SH-101-style arpeggiator with triplet and dotted divisions, portamento in legato or always modes, key-tracked filter, stereo width up to 200%, and a bass/treble output EQ. These features make VA-1000 equally suited for live play and studio production, with a one-page interface for fast sound design.
