AmpliTube 5 SE is a guitar and bass amp and effects modeling software with 80 gear models, a customizable signal chain, and advanced cabinet simulation using Volumetric Impulse Response technology.

Core Gear and Modeling
AmpliTube 5 SE provides a collection of 80 gear models focused on essential guitar and bass tones. The included gear comprises 47 stompbox effects, 34 amplifiers, 27 speaker cabinets, 13 speakers, 36 rack effects, 11 microphones, and 8 room simulations. All five Generation 5 amps and the Generation 5 cabinet are included, along with 19 racks from that generation.
The modeling engine has been updated to improve realism. Legacy gear from earlier AmpliTube versions has been remastered with optimized internal gain structure and enhanced power amp-speaker interaction. This aims to deliver a more responsive and authentic playing feel, making the SE edition a solid starting point for exploring the AmpliTube 5 platform.
Signal Chain and Routing
AmpliTube 5 introduces a freely configurable signal chain that supports more than simple mono or stereo setups. Users can create wet-dry-wet configurations and other advanced series and parallel routing options. The chain can hold up to 57 simultaneous models across stomps, racks, amps, and cabinets, allowing complex rigs to be built.
Setup is handled through drag-and-drop, letting you position any model anywhere in the chain in seconds. This flexibility makes it easy to experiment with different effect orders or split signals for parallel processing. The redesigned workflow is a key upgrade, enabling creative routing that was previously difficult or impossible in earlier versions.
Cabinet Section with VIR Technology
The cabinet section is completely re-engineered with IK Multimedia’s Volumetric Impulse Response (VIR) technology. Each speaker uses 600 impulse responses, with 1,200 for a 2-speaker cabinet and 2,400 for a 4-speaker cabinet. These capture a 3D array of microphone positions and interactions between speakers, cabinet, and floor for a more true-to-life sound.
The microphone placement interface uses an easy-to-use grid. You can snap to precise IR points or seamlessly blend between multiple measurements, giving you fine control over the recorded tone. All cabinets included in AmpliTube 5 SE were re-measured with this technology, refreshing every cabinet for improved depth and realism.
Mixer and Workflow
The new Mixer window in the studio section lets you blend the sound of cabinets, microphones, and the DI signal. It includes panning, level controls, and busses, along with 19 built-in effects derived from T-RackS 5. This allows you to apply final polish to a track without leaving the AmpliTube environment.
The graphical user interface is fully scalable, adapting to any display size including Retina displays. The Custom Shop has been redesigned with a more modern interface, allowing multiple purchases at once and easier sorting by owned or unowned gear. This streamlines the process of building and expanding your custom rig.
