Mellotron V faithfully models the playback mechanism of the original 1960s instrument, where each key triggered a tape recording of a single orchestral note. The modeling includes tape flutter, saturation, mechanics noise, and noise floor, reproducing the quirky, imperfect character that made the Mellotron famous.
The instrument includes 65 original tape racks drawn from the MKI, MKII, M300, and M400 models, covering the classic sounds of strings, brass, woodwinds, and choir. Custom Sample Integration
Beyond the vintage banks, Mellotron V supports importing your own samples, which then play through the modeled tape-replay engine. The plugin offers three tracks to select or blend samples, allowing layers of different sources.
