Adaptive Runs is an orchestral runs library that syncs performances to your track using the Adaptive Sync engine, with sections, combos, and mic control.

Purpose and Core Technology
Adaptive Runs is designed to create perfectly timed orchestral runs that follow your music automatically. Its Adaptive Sync engine analyzes your tempo and positions runs to land precisely on the next downbeat or a custom number of beats or seconds. The engine selects the best matching recording from a vast audio pool and adjusts it to fit exactly.
The Range toggle lets you switch between narrower or wider orchestrated runs while keeping the sync settings intact. This allows for quick variations without disrupting your flow. When synchronization is turned off, samples load in disk streaming mode, which helps conserve RAM in lighter setups.
Recording and Instrumentation
The library was recorded in the same concert hall as the Symphobia and Orchestral Essentials series, ensuring a consistent acoustic space. It includes six sections performed in unison: Violins I & II, Violas & Cellos, 3 Flutes plus Piccolo, Solo Piccolo, Woodwind ensemble (3 Oboes, 3 Clarinets, 3 Bassoons), and 3 Trumpets.
Individual section presets are available, along with combos like All Strings & Winds, High Strings & Flutes, and Low Strings & Winds. These combos enable massive 4-octave runs and common pairings such as violins with flutes. Five microphone positions are included: four individual stereo channels plus a pre-mixed cinematic option.
Workflow and Control
The interface offers a clean layout with on-the-fly loading and unloading of sections, mics, scales, and run directions. You can assign run scale and direction to keyswitches, velocity, or MIDI CC via the cogwheel settings. This flexibility allows for expressive performance control without extra key switches.
When both up and down runs are loaded, the Bounce feature becomes available. Holding the sustain pedal triggers a bounce-loop between ascending and descending runs, perfectly synced to your music. This is ideal for creating repetitive, energetic passages or for building tension in film scores.
Practical Applications and Integration
Adaptive Runs suits composers needing quick, realistic orchestral runs in film, TV, or game music. Use it for action cues, transitional moments, or to add movement to static scenes. The sync engine reduces manual timing adjustment, speeding up workflow.
It works within the Kontakt Player and supports NKS, making it easy to integrate into existing setups. Loading via Native Access and serial activation simplifies installation. The ability to load only necessary elements keeps templates light, which is beneficial for large projects with many instruments.
