A bundle combining u-he’s Diva virtual analog synthesizer with three Tom Wolfe soundbanks, offering atmospheric arpeggios, deep basses, and lush pads for media composers and electronic producers.
The Synthesizer Core
Diva is a virtual analog instrument that models the character of classic analog synthesizers from several eras. Its architecture lets you combine oscillator, filter, and envelope models from different hardware designs, so you can recreate a familiar vintage sound or craft a hybrid of your own. The result is a flexible instrument with an authentic analog voice.
Diva’s signal path includes multiple oscillator and filter models, envelope choices with keyboard tracking, and zero-delay feedback filters for accurate resonance. Two host-syncable LFOs provide modulation, while an arpeggiator with swing and progression settings adds rhythmic movement. The built-in stereo effects section offers chorus, phaser, plate reverb, delay, and a rotary speaker for additional shaping.
Soundbanks for Instant Inspiration
The Tom Wolfe presets are organized into three collections, each with fifty patches. Atmospheric Arpegs covers soft and sweeping to powerful and punchy arpeggiated sounds, ideal for adding motion and texture to a track. Deep Basses ranges from dark and heavy to brighter tones, offering a toolkit for immediate low-end inspiration.
Luscious Pads provides thick, warm, soft, and serene chord pads, perfect for building atmosphere. Each collection is designed to be playable straight away: pick a preset, choose your notes or chord sequence, and start composing. This approach suits both media composers needing quick cues and electronic producers looking for ready-made tonal elements.
Workflow and Integration
Diva fits into a production workflow as a central sound design tool or a go-to for classic analog timbres. The mix-and-match modules encourage experimentation, while the preset banks reduce setup time with genre-spanning sounds. Users can tweak parameters or use the MIDI learn page to assign hardware controllers for hands-on adjustment.
The arpeggiator’s continuous rate offset and swing options let you humanize patterns, and the LFOs can be synced to your host for steady modulation. Effects slots can process the signal internally, and support for Oddsound MTS-ESP allows advanced microtuning. The resizable interface improves usability on different display sizes.
Practical Applications
For media composers, the arpeggio and pad banks provide fast access to evolving textures for underscore or scene-setting. The bass presets can anchor a cue with depth or add brightness for contrast. Electronic producers in genres like synthwave, pop, or ambient can use these presets as starting points for complete tracks.
The wide sonic range across the three soundbanks supports everything from subtle background layers to prominent lead arpeggios. Because the presets are playable with simple note choices or chord patterns, they can inspire melodic ideas rather than requiring complex programming. This makes the bundle practical for both sketching and final production.
