An authentic emulation of the classic 1982 Eventide SP2016 rack processor, delivering six distinct reverbs with vintage and modern character, plus a unique Position control for effortless mix placement.

Signature Reverb Heritage
The SP2016 Reverb recreates the sound of the first programmable studio rack processor, a unit celebrated for its lush, natural reverbs and used on countless hit records. It captures the hardware’s character by modeling both its DSP processing and analog audio circuitry, bringing that classic tone to modern DAWs.
This plug-in includes authentic emulations of three core algorithms, each in Vintage and Modern versions. The Vintage modes faithfully reproduce the original unit, down to its bit depth, while the Modern modes offer a brighter, more diffuse character with higher resolution.
Six Distinct Reverb Types
The Room algorithm provides a straightforward, mono-in/stereo-out ambience with an extreme pre-delay range, making it suitable for reverberant doubling or single echoes. Stereo Room recreates the natural ambience of a large concert hall, ideal for instruments where authenticity is key, such as vocals, drums, acoustic guitar, strings, and horns.
The High-Density Plate simulates a larger, heavier plate with dual pickups, making vocals, guitars, and percussion sound bigger and brighter. Each algorithm offers parametric controls including PreDelay, Decay, Position, and Diffusion, allowing detailed shaping of the reverb’s structure and tail.
Position Control and EQ
A standout feature is the unique Position control, which lets you move the listener from the back of the room to the stage with a single slider, while preserving all other settings. This simplifies the process of making a reverb sit perfectly in a mix, saving time and improving workflow.
The built-in EQ section includes simple high and low filters with adjustable ranges. The low filter can cut or boost at the specified frequency, offering flexible tonal shaping of the reverb tail. This combination of position and EQ gives engineers precise control over the spatial and spectral balance.
Presets and Modern Use
The plug-in ships with a variety of artist presets from notable engineers such as Dave Pensado, Richard Devine, Joe Chiccarelli, Sasha, George Massenburg, and The Butcher Bros. These presets provide starting points that showcase the character of each algorithm, from subtle ambience to dramatic effects.
While historically used in studios, this reverb is equally suited for live performance and in-the-box production. Its natural, distinctive sound makes it a versatile tool for mixing vocals, drums, guitars, and orchestral elements, delivering the classic SP2016 sonic beauty in a contemporary software format.
