AmpliTube Leslie, by IK Multimedia with Hammond and Suzuki, digitally recreates five certified Leslie amps and six rotary cabinets using Dynamic Interaction and Volumetric Response Modeling for authentic tone in your DAW or live.

Authentic Leslie Recreation
Developed with Hammond USA and Suzuki Music Corp., AmpliTube Leslie is a certified digital recreation of the legendary Leslie amps and cabinets. It uses IK’s Dynamic Interaction Modeling to replicate every circuit component and its interactions, capturing nonlinear behavior and overdrive characteristics. The result is a faithful model, not just an emulation, of the original hardware.
The rotary cabinets are recreated using Volumetric Response Modeling, which combines component modeling with captured audio from real cabinets miked in a high-quality room. This approach reproduces the Doppler effect, variable delay, frequency response, and internal reflections. All horns and drums are recorded in stereo, allowing flexible mixing of four microphone channels to match production needs.
Key Capabilities and Controls
The plugin includes five amp models: Leslie 122, 122A, 147, 3300w, and G37/Studio 12. Each amp has controls for gain, volume, and input high-pass filter, with additional features like tube drive and contour on certain models. A guitar-amp style EQ with low, mid, and high controls is available after the main amp settings.
The setup page lets you adjust microphone position (90° or 180°), microphone distance, slow and fast rotation speeds, and acceleration or deceleration times. These parameters shape the perceived rotation and Doppler effect, allowing for both symmetric and asymmetric stereo modulation. The mixer view provides level and pan control for each of the four mic channels.
Workflow and Integration
AmpliTube Leslie is designed for recording in a DAW or for live performance, leveraging AmpliTube’s 64-bit processing. The interface is divided into three pages—Setup, Channels, and EQ—with the speed controller always visible for quick access. This layout streamlines adjustments during sessions, making it practical for both studio and stage use.
The plugin can be used alongside other AmpliTube models and processors, offering extensive sonic options. Its intuitive controls allow for precise level balancing, amp and cabinet combinations, and circuit overdriving. The parametric EQ at the end of the chain provides additional tone shaping, fitting the Leslie sound into any mix.
Practical Applications
While ideal for organs and keyboards, AmpliTube Leslie is also a creative tool for guitars, synths, lead and background vocals, and sound effects. The overdrive capability suits rock and blues, while the 122 and 147 models cover pop, jazz, and blues. The 3300w is powerful for modern productions, and the G37 offers a compact guitar-focused option.
The mixer allows for versatile mic blending, such as panning the drum center for solid lows and using stereo horns, or creating a 70s-style sound with two mics slightly panned. This flexibility makes it suitable for mixing, sound design, and production across genres from jazz to contemporary pop, giving tracks the signature Leslie shimmer and character.
