Key Capabilities
The advanced triggering engine tracks complex drum performances, including rolls, flams, and hi-hat articulations (open, half-open, closed). It features Automatic Bleed Reduction and a full trigger filter section with high-pass, low-pass, band, and band-reject filters, each with adjustable frequency, level, and Q.
Unique to Drumagog is Full-Wave Alignment via Auto-Align 2.0, developed with the Fraunhofer Institute. This smart algorithm phase-aligns entire waveforms rather than just transients, ensuring phase coherence across hits and samples. Traditional transient alignment can be enabled by disabling Auto-Align 2.0.
Workflow
Setting up replacement is straightforward: load a drum track, adjust the sensitivity threshold as the waveform displays in real time, and fine-tune the Transient Detail and Resolution controls to eliminate double-triggering. Samples can be soloed, muted, and reorganized, with pitch, level, and articulation automated per sample or globally.
Dynamic Tracking forces samples to be consistently soft or loud, while Stealth Mode lets original audio pass through until a threshold is reached, enabling selective replacement or bleed retention. Auto Ducking can extract a snare from an overhead track while preserving other sounds. Matched room and overhead samples maintain perfect phase coherence.

In addition to replacement, Drumagog 5 offers enhancement tools: a drum-optimized synthesizer with sine, square, or saw waves plus a noise generator for adding harmonic complexity; convolution reverb with 30 included IRs from MoReVox, including real rooms, vintage plates, and analog tape-processed ‘Classic Drive’ IRs; and the Morph|Engine, which reshapes sound in real time using 25 morphs with 8 variations each.
VST hosting allows any virtual instrument to be triggered directly within Drumagog, expanding sound options beyond drum samples. This makes it suitable for creative sound design, adding synthesized layers to drums, or processing entire mixes.
